Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. The couple moved to Oxfordshire in the year she turned five and enrolled in an academy called the Dragon School. Emma had a dream to become an actor from the age of aged six. She attended Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford, an acting school with part-time courses. As part of a school production and a Stagecoach production, Emma was the lead at the age 10 and performed. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 version from J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book was released in 1999. Casting agents found Emma by way of her Oxford theater teacher. David Heyman told Emma along together with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe after they all had eight consecutive auditions. The debut of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's cinematic screen debut. The film is 2001's top grossing film, breaking records on opening day as well as the first weekend. Reviewers have been highly lauding the film as well as the performances by the three young actors. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her excellent performance. Emma won the Young Artist Award as the most outstanding young actor in a Feature Film. Emma was nominated five times for her role in the movie.
