John Denver is a popular singer and songwriter who has touched a lot of people with his songs. Most of his songs have roots in Colorado. He was born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico he fell in affection with Colorado and eventually moved to Aspen. Many people took the road through Colorado after hearing Denver's popular anthems to his adopted state. G. Brown of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame declares it is true that John Denver is unlike any other performer who has the recognizable image of Colorado. Denver became the one of the first Hall of Fame inductee in the year 2011. Denver is today Colorado's international image. In my journeys, you come across someone on the opposite side of the world or someone from New Zealand and you say 'I'm originally from Colorado and the first thing that comes out of their mouths is Oh John Denver! Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads was Denver's first Top 10 Hit as a Solo Artist after working with small folk groups. The track was written in collaboration with Bill Danoff. Danoff composed the song in the name of Johnny Cash but Denver recognized the song's potential after hearing it first. The song was first recorded a few weeks after that Washington D.C. performance.
