Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig on 21 September 1983) is an American actress who is best known for her roles as Shannon Rutherford on the ABC TV series Lost as well as Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. Maggie Grace was born in Worthington in Ohio. She dropped out of high school after her parents split up to move in Los Angeles to live with her mother. Her first role came to her in the film, Rachel's Room's main character in 2001 despite struggling in the financial department. In the following year, she was awarded a Young Artist Award nomination in 2002 for her performance as 15-year-old murder victim Martha Moxley in the television film Murder set in Greenwich. Grace played Shannon Rutherford on the Lost television show in 2004. The show featured her as the principal character for two seasons and won an award for her performance, a Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace has worked alongside Tom Welling on The Fog in 2005, decided to make the move into film. The actress has also appeared as Kim Mills in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club both in 2007 and Taken opposite Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. She played the same role as Kim Mills in Taken 2 and Taken 3 (both 2012). Grace reprised the role as Shannon in two episodes of Lost as well as the show's finale. She appeared in 2013's sixth season of Californication. She portrays Faith as the muse and fan of the actors. Hank Moody as played by David Duchovny falls in love with her. She is a member of the Gyllenhaal Family she's the younger sister of actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Her first appearances were in films of her father as an adolescent. Along with her brother, she appeared as a character in Donnie Darko (2000). In 2002, she starred as a character on Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. She also appeared in Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her leading performances in the romantic erotic comedy drama Secretary (2002) and in the thriller Sherrybaby (2006) each of which resulted in a Golden Globe Award nomination. Her fame grew when she portrayed Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008), thanks to several successful commercial films that she was a part of the year the year 2006. Nominated in the Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for her performance on the film Crazy Heart, (2009). The following year, she starred in comedies and dramas: Nanny McPhee as well as the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and Will Not Back Down (2012). Her other roles include an agent in the action-thriller White House Down (2013), a Secret Service agent in the action-thriller White House Down (2013) as well as a singer in Frank (2014) as well as her role as the lead in the film The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal was first introduced as a writer and director in 2021, with her psychological drama The Lost Daughter. For this movie, she received with the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and nominated for an Academy Award.
